A COVENTRY man was in a critical condition yesterday after being shot in a moving car.
The 21-year-old was sat in the front passenger seat of a car when he was shot in Coventry on Friday evening, West Midlands Police said.
Detectives believe the shooting was not a random attack and the victim may know who is responsible but is unable to tell police due to his condition.
Detective Sergeant Michelle Kiedron said: “We are at the very early stages of an investigation but from we understand so far, the car was driving towards the Stoke area.
“At this time, this is not thought to be a random attack and we believe the victim may know who is responsible but — due to his condition — he is clearly not in a position to tell us.
“This shooting happened in broad daylight — someone must have witnessed it and can give us a description of whoever is behind it.”
The victim was shot while travelling in a black Peugeot 206 along Mercer Avenue at around 5.50pm, police said.
