NHS activists turn anger against all Lib Dems

HEALTH campaigners extended their campaign against Lib Dem support for NHS privatisation yesterday by vowing to target all 57 of the party’s parliamentary constituencies.

Thousands of households will soon display garden placards reading: “Cameron and Hunt — The People’s NHS — Not for Sale.”

As reported in the Star, the People’s NHS campaign group originally launched the poster campaign in Lib Dem leader Nick Clegg’s Sheffield Hallam constituency in South Yorkshire.

But now they have targeted Lib Dem Leeds North West MP Greg Mulholland and hope to have plastered all 57 regions with placards before the general election.

“Greg Mulholland must push party leaders David Cameron and Nick Clegg into either excluding the NHS from TTIP or to use his veto to remove the NHS from this American trade deal,” said People’s NHS spokesman Dr Tig Calvert.

The Peoples NHS group is demanding an end to the “irreversible sale of our NHS” and wants it excluded from the controversial US-EU Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership.
