National Gallery protest: Fight to save arts

Activists joined forces outside the National Gallery in London on Saturday to “show culture some love,” support the campaign against privatisation and demand the reinstatement of PCS union rep Candy Unwin who has been suspended from work at the gallery on trumped-up disciplinary charges.

The direct action was taken by participants at a highly successful conference organised by the south and east region of the TUC, PCS, entertainment unions, artists and campaign groups to unite organisations and individuals campaigning to defend arts budgets and promote wider participation in culture.
