England make bid to host 2019 Netball World Cup

England launched its bid yesterday to host the 2019 Netball World Cup in Liverpool.

The proposal is to hold the games in Liverpool’s Arena and Convention Centre (ACC).

The ACC has three separate venues. The Echo Arena which can seat 8,300 fans will host all the games while the the Exhibition Centre will be the proposed athlete training venue.

The Convention Centre will host the International Netball Federation (INF) Congress that runs alongside the World Cup.

“Liverpool is an iconic city immersed in sport,” said England Netball chairman Cheryl Danson.

“It would be the perfect host to showcase the 2019 World Cup to the world.”

England has already won the bid to host the 2019 Cricket World Cup but pulled out last month  for the chance to host the 2019 Women’s World Cup in football.
