Mexico: Bus blockade after conductor’s murder

About 40 buses blocked one of the motorways leading north out of Mexico City on Friday in a protest over a killing on a bus by robbers.

Bus routes around the capital have become a favoured hunting ground for bands of thieves who board buses, draw weapons and rob passengers before fleeing. In the latest incident, two robbers fatally stabbed a conductor when he resisted their demands. The killers escaped.
