LABOUR deputy leader Harriet Harman has warned activists that the Tories will fight “dirty” to keep David Cameron in Number 10.
Ms Harman told Muslim supporters on Monday that their support could help to prove the difference in May’s general election.
She urged them to turn out in force to help candidate Lisa Forbes in the swing seat of Peterborough.
But she braced them to expect personal and political Tory attacks.
She said: “We have to get rid of this government. We’re all going to be working together to make this happen.
“We are within touching distance of winning the general election but it’s going to be a very, very hard fight.
“They will throw everything they can at us, it’s going to be a dirty campaign, it will be a divisive campaign.”
Ms Harman faced what she called a “politically motivated smear campaign” from the Daily Mail in February over her links to a charity of which the Paedophile Information Exchange was affiliated to.
