Boy faces murder rap as Israeli gun attacks mount

THE 13-year-old Palestinian boy who was attacked by an Israeli mob after being run over was charged yesterday with attempted murder.

Israel’s Jerusalem District Court indicted Ahmed Manasra over an alleged October 12 attack on two Israelis in East Jerusalem in which his cousin Hassan Manasra was shot dead by police.

Two Israelis, one aged 13, were injured in the attack near the illegal Pisgat Zeev settlement.

Ahmed was run down by a car in the incident. As he lay seriously wounded, Israelis gathered round shouting abuse and urging police to shoot him.

Israeli forces shot three more Palestinians in alleged knife attacks yesterday, killing two.

Qassem Mahmoud Sabaneh from Jenin was shot dead in an alleged attack on a checkpoint in Nablus, while another man was wounded.

Ahmad Hamada Qneibi from Kafr Aqab died of his wounds after being shot by police in Jerusalem.

In the village of Beit Fajjar, south of Bethlehem, an eight-month-old baby died of tear gas inhalation during clashes between protesters and Israeli occupation troops.

The Palestinian Health Ministry named the infant as Ramadan Mohammad Faisal Thawabta.

Three Palestinians were also injured with small-calibre rifles, which Israeli forces are authorised to use against unarmed youths — often with fatal results.

Israeli police stormed a Palestinian hospital in Jerusalem on Thursday for the third day in a row, injuring dozens of staff and patients and seizing confidential records.

Officers hunting a 15-year-old boy who had been shot during a protest fired teargas grenades and rubber-coated steel pellets and insulted patients.
