JEREMY CORBYN steamed further ahead of his three rivals in the race for leadership with the number Constituency Labour Party yesterday.
The only left-wing candidate, who has been MP for Islington North since 1983, now has 57 nominations from constituencies across Britain while Andy Burnham is in second place with 54.
Yvette Cooper has 41 and Liz Kendall, who has been accused of being a “red Tory,” lags behind with 10.
Supporters of Mr Corbyn, who is also a Morning Star columnist, say that his bid to become leader of the party will unite disillusioned former Labour voters, those who backed Ukip in “protest” and those who did not vote at all in the last general election.
He detailed his first policy this week, which is to completely scrap the £9,000 tuition fees for students in England and Wales and to reinstate grants to encourage social mobility.
