EDUCATION: Teens ‘are being priced off buses’

Teenagers will be increasingly priced out of education if they cannot afford the bus fare to get to college, experts warned yesterday.

Transport is a “huge issue” for students, with some being forced to shell out hundreds of pounds on a bus pass, according to Association of Colleges president Richard Atkins.

Mr Atkins’s comments come as the association publishes a new manifesto calling for more transport rights for 16 to 18-year-olds.

BLACKPOOL: Hotel ‘fine’ of bad reviewers dropped

A couple “fined” by a hotel after they wrote a damning review about it are to be given a refund, Blackpool Council said yesterday.

Tony and Jan Jenkinson said they were charged an extra £100 after describing the Broadway Hotel in Blackpool as a “filthy, stinking hovel” on TripAdvisor.
