Education Secretary Nicky Morgan was accused of “casting a spell” on her front bench of “numpties” yesterday.
Huddersfield Labour MP Barry Sheerman made the comment during education questions in the Commons.
Speaking at the end of the session, he said: “I have never seen a bunch of numpties with lack of vision, lack of passion.
“I went to five schools in my constituency of Huddersfield on Friday. They are crying out for new teachers. They can’t recruit.”
But Ms Morgan replied: “If you want to look for a team with a lack of vision, you ought to look at the shadow front bench.”
