I read the Morning Star, not only because I find the wide range of articles by its passionate and articulate writers engaging and relevant to my own interests, but because I know that ethically this newspaper is sound.
Unlike other newspapers, the Morning Star doesn’t pander to the rich, it doesn’t do back-door deals with politicians and big business.
It doesn’t bug celebrity phones or undertake equally dodgy practices that scrape the bottom of the journalistic barrel.
Advertising is minimal and income is generated through subscriptions and sales. This gives a level of transparency and honesty to its readers that other newspapers cannot.
The fact that the Morning Star is operated on a reader-owned co-operative basis is commendable. It means that anyone can become part of the paper.
Not only is it talking the talk, it is walking the walk by genuinely putting people first.
