THE Football Association was under attack yesterday after omitting sexism from a list of incidents it will investigate during matches.
A Twitter account which promotes women in football tweeted a picture taken from Sunday’s Community Shield programme where it says the FA will investigate allegations of “racist, anti-semitic, Islamaphobic, homophobic or transphobic” abuse, with many picking up on the fact that sexism failed to be mentioned.
One user tweeted: “Inexcusable to see that sexism is once again absent from list of prohibited behaviours.”
Another replied to the tweet, saying: “That’s because if the FA prohibited sexism they would lose half of their board of execs in one go.”
