Ukraine: Kiev brings in ban on Russian food

Kiev will introduce a broad ban on Russian food imports on January 10 in response to similar sanctions by Moscow.

Included are meat, fish, vegetables, fruit and dairy products. Russia banned similar items from Ukraine on Friday. Last autumn the two countries imposed bans on flights by each other’s airlines.

The spat is the continuing fallout of the 2014 Kiev coup and Russian annexation of the Crimean peninsula.
