Comedian and activist Mark Thomas performed a special stand-up set to journalists on the opening day of the NUJ conference.
Mr Thomas took to the stage at Eastbourne’s winter gardens on Wednesday night to perform his mischievous “100 acts of minor dissent” routine.
His challenge is to complete all 100 acts by May 13 or he will personally donate £1,000 to Ukip.
Many of them consist of exploiting legal loopholes, bureaucracy or archaic laws.
One ancient law makes it illegal to envisage the end of the monarchy.
Mr Thomas wrote to the Royal Parks Police to request a parade while “not doing anything but walking through the park thinking about the end of the monarchy — they said no.”
He also explained how the government would not allow a petition to make it a legally binding verbal agreement for bankers to leave the country whenever they threaten to if they do not get their bonus.
In response he has set up the website campaign www.wewilldrivethemtotheairport.co.uk where you can sign up to become a volunteer driver.
