HUNDREDS of people in Aberdeen joined a protest on Saturday against the controversial £107 million redevelopment of the city’s Marischal Square.
Reject Marischal Square Development said the demo showed “the power of people coming together to protest.”
Campaigners want an open public space in the square and claim more than 8,000 supporters have signed a petition calling for a fresh consultation.
Aberdeen City Council gave planning permission in October for the office, retail and hotel project but protesters argue that planning law allows for reconsideration of the development.
Local campaigner Lorna McHattie said: “I still believe that we can stop this. The perception from the public is that something is not right here.”
