Bar cancels gay-bashing Christmas booking

A bar cancelled a transnational car dealer’s £1,000 Christmas booking after it made homophobic comments as part of last minute arrangements, the owner announced yesterday.

Proud Camden owner Alex Proud took to Twitter after the “major international car brand” emailed him to ask whether the venue was gay friendly.

In the exchange — which Mr Proud published on the social media website — the unnamed company adds: “We need to know as it’s against some people religion (sic) so we will need to make them aware.”

Mr Proud retorted he had cancelled the booking as his bar was “pretty gay and a lot of gay stuff happens here.”

“Gay drinks, gay food, gay loos etc…”
