TSSA backs CalMac Ferries strike action

SCOTLAND: A second union could join RMT in taking strike action at CalMac Ferries against privatisation.

The Transport Salaried Staffs Association, which represents 100 ticktet office staff and managers at the firm, will begin a 10-day ballot of staff for industrial action on July 3.

Union general secretary Manuel Cortes said the plans were “wrongheaded and unnecessary.

“The Scottish government is simply not listening to the unions or the general public which wants this service kept in public hands.”
