Food critic roasts hypocrite Vine attack

JOURNALIST and food critic Jay Rayner skewered Daily Mail columnist Sarah Vine yesterday following her hypocritical attacks on Ed Miliband’s kitchen.

The knives came out after Ms Vine, wife of Tory Chief Whip Michael Gove, criticised the Labour leader for having two kitchens.

Mr Rayner posted a link on Twitter to a Private Eye article that pointed out the Goves were caught kitting out the kitchen in their second home with £7,000 of public money.

Ms Vine said they were cleared of wrongdoing and repaid the money on principle.

But Mr Rayner wrote: “You slagged off a man’s character through his kitchen while using public funds for your own.

And only paid it back when you discovered there was a principle involved.”
