Isabella Acevedo supporters picket Mark Harper's house

Former immigration minister's cleaner was secretly deported

SUPPORTERS of former immigration minister Mark Harper’s cleaner picketed the Tory MP's house yesterday to protest her sudden and secret deportation last week.

Isabella Acevedo was Mr Harper's cleaner for seven years until he was exposed as having hiring her without the needed paperwork.

In July Ms Acevedo was violently dragged out of her only daughter’s wedding ceremony and locked up in the infamous Yarl’s Wood detention centre.

At yesterday’s "Hour of Power" vigil Justice 4 Isabella campaigners stood outside Mr Harper’s central London flat chanting: “Isabella was here because you are still there.”

Mr Harper — who is now minister for people with disabilities — was responsible for the widely ridiculed Go Home van campaign, which reportedly resulted in just 11 people leaving Britain.

He has also conspicuously evaded the £20,000 fine which is normally imposed on employers of workers lacking immigration papers.

Campaigners have vowed to keep fighting until Ms Acevedo is back in Britain with her family.
