FC UNITED OF MANCHESTER have reached a landmark 4,008 members, the club revealed yesterday.
The fan-owned club’s previous highest figure of 3,574, recorded in the 2010-11 season, was surpassed earlier this year.
Officials said the achievement was down to the continued support from staff and volunteers.
FC United general manager Andy Walsh said: “Getting to 4,000 members is a landmark achievement and it’s great that we have achieved this in our 10 anniversary year.
“The club is showing that supporter ownership really works and it’s a successful model that offers a real and viable alternative to the current way that football is run.
“Every one of those 4,008 members is an equal co-owner in our club, with an equal say in the way FC United is run.
We’re proud of our democratic structure and also the number of members who volunteer and are actively involved in the club.”
